Belinda (Bea) G. Amaya

Bea earned an AAS in Instrumentation Technology from Lee College in Baytown in 1981 and began her career working as an Instrument Technician in the petrochemical industry. Over the next 15 years, she moved through roles in Operations, Safety, and Training and Operating Discipline Coordination. Over the years, her computer skills developed as well and in 2002, she started her own company putting these skills to work.

With her background in Operations and Maintenance, Bea found she was particularly suited to developing database solutions for use by industrial companies with employees in the field. Her specialty became designing interfaces for people not experienced in database usage. Databases for Contract Administration, Material Safety Datasheet (MSDS) approval, Preventive Maintenance (PMs) programs, and Project Invoicing and Stewarding are only a few examples.

In May of 2007, Bea earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston College of Technology in Technology Leadership and Supervision. Before her degree was conferred, she began an intensive program at the University of Texas IC2 Institute and earned her MS in Technology Commercialization in May of 2008.

Bea continues to pursue a wide range of projects including solutions in Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, some web page design (this site, for example), occasional Flash presentations and computer based training (CBT), as well as technology research and technical report writing.

Leonardo (Leo) H. Amaya

Leo has over 30 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, 20 of those years in onshore oil and gas facility commissioning and startup experience and 15 of them in a supervisory role. Leo is currently on assignment in Escravos Nigeria, working in the role of Vendor Coordinator for yet another startup.

Leo's specialty is in-the-field training. He pursues training using an organized, disciplined approach. He often contributes to Bea's training development tools as well as benefits from their development by using them in the field. Leo has an unusual expertise in that he can transfer [freehand] what he sees in the field to paper applying a draftsman-like quality to the drawings.

When it comes to industrial training projects, Leo is our key ingredient. He is an excellent presenter, especially when the subject matter is operational aspects or troubleshooting efforts, as these are both areas where he derives a great deal of professional satisfaction.
